Penguin Painting Workshop

(recommended ages 7 – 12)

Celebrate one of our most loved local attractions — the penguin — in this fun and creative painting workshop! Kids will get the chance to paint their very own penguin on canvas, exploring texture, colour, and brush techniques while making a unique artwork to take home.

What to Expect:
This workshop is designed to balance guidance with creative freedom. They will learn new painting skills while being encouraged to discover their own unique style.

Here’s what they’ll experience:

Learning Textures with Paint:
We’ll explore how to use brushes, sponges, and layering to create the textures of feathers, backgrounds, and details that bring their penguin painting to life.

Step-by-Step Penguin Painting:
Through guided steps, kids will learn how to build up shapes, add colour, and bring out character in their penguin, with plenty of room for individual creativity.

Create in Their Own Style:
Whether bold and colourful, soft and realistic, or fun and imaginative, every penguin will reflect the artist’s personal style.

Take-Home Masterpiece:
At the end of the workshop, each child will proudly leave with their very own penguin canvas painting.

Skills They’ll Develop:

• Confidence with acrylic painting on canvas

• Techniques for creating textures with paint

• An understanding of colour mixing and layering
